MEATBALL TOMATO SAUCE

Recipe Ingredients
Meatballs
1. 250g (9 oz) Beef mince
2. 250g (9oz) Lamb mince
3. 1 large onion diced (or 2 tbp dried onions)
... 4. 1 egg
5. 2 tbl tomato relish or chutney
6. 1tbl Worchester sauce
7. 2 cloves garlic (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
8. ¼ cup fresh herbs (parsley, thyme, oregano) or 2 teaspoons dried herbs
9. Pepper and Salt

Tomato Sauce
1. 2 (small) onion finely chopped
2. 1tbl Olive Oil
3. 2 cans diced tomato
4. 4 cloves garlic (or 2 garlic powder)
5. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
6. 4 teaspoons brown sugar
7. 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
8. 1 teaspoon Dried Marjoram
9. Cracked Pepper
10. 1 cup water

Method of Making

1. Preheat oven to 200c.
2. Preheat pan and fry onion until softened, set aside until cooled.
3. In a large bowl, place mince, egg, Worchester sauce, herbs, chutney, cooled onion, garlic and . With clean hands mix the ingredients altogether insuring everything is incorporated.
4. Roll a tablespoon of the mixture into balls and place on plate, set aside.
5. Sauté Onion in Olive oil for 5 minutes until softened. Remove from heat.
6. Add the onion then incorporate the Worchester sauce to the pan for around 30 seconds, keep stirring.
7. Add the can of tomatoes and stir altogether, make sure heat is turned down to simmer. Add garlic, sugar, pepper and herbs. Keep simmering for around 5 minutes , if too thick add the water.
8. Place Meatballs into a baking dish pour over the tomato sauce, add cup of water and bake for 20-25 minutes until meatballs are cooked. (After 10 minutes turn balls over in the sauce).
